Kirtan – Global Beats – Medicine Music
with Sivani Mata, Stunflower and Aylon

Saturday 22 January 2022
18:30 doors for 19:00 – 22:30

at The Study Society, Colet House,
151 Talgarth Road, London, W14 9DA

Come gather together with us this winter evening for some soul music to warm your spirit.

We will welcome you with some Kirtan offered by Sivani Mata and friends – Kirtan is a deep dive into the heart through co-created song. It is a conversation with that inner place in each one of us that is ever unified with everything in creation. Each Kirtan repeats simple mantras which invoke a trance-like state within, as well as evoking the spirit of Bhakti: the mood of love. Everyone in this space is invited to add their voice, and in doing so contribute their special spice to flavour the collective soup we brew together. All are invited to be at home here to express the truth of themselves, through these songs of freedom.

We will then journey into ecstatic dance with the vibes of Stunflower – Global-beat fanatics Stunflower are a collective of musical humans from Trinidad, the UK, Canada & Bangladesh based in SE London. They create a mash-up of world grooves to get your body moving and your soul reaching new heights. Veteran musicians/cultural pioneers Thomas & Devaki are joined by Alex & Naz and guest Carnatic vocalist Anoohya shares alaaps & swaras to enhance.

We will close our evening together with the beautiful sounds of Aylon – Aylon will be taking you through a journey of Love and Healing through devotional medicine music. Aylon is directing music towards healing purposes; singing, creating and carrying various songs with shamanic influences. Aylon is honouring the wisdom and teachings within these songs that are simultaneously prayers; hymns of gratitude allowing an authentic heart-based experience.
