EVENTS – BRIGHTON | Kirtan
with Sivani Mata, Michelle and Mark
Friday 19 April 2019 | 19:30 – 21:30
at Unity Studio, 130A Lewes Road (downstairs), BN2 3LG
Kirtan is chanting- a form of yoga for the voice done in a group accompanied by music. Repeating Sanskrit mantras creates a meditative and uplifted mental state, and helps to melt inhibitions that can suppress your voice and expression. You add your voice to those around you, creating a sense of harmony. Some people feel a sense of calm, others a sense of elation- it's a great way to unblock emotions as well as simply being a lot of fun.
Investment: £10 on the door (unwaged or low waged please pay by donation)
This evening is part of a regular Kirtan on a Friday with Sivani Mata, Gratia, Chidanand, Bhavana or Special Guests. For upcoming Brighton Kirtan dates with our team please see my list of recommended events or go straight to the Brighton Kirtan website: www.brightonkirtan.co.uk

Unity is on Lewes Road, the A270 and is approximately 15 minutes from the centre of town. Many buses (such as the 24, 25, 49) serve the ‘Melbourne St’ stop on Lewes Road, and this route continues out to the Universities. The mainline Brighton train station (1 hour from London; 30 minutes from Gatwick airport) is about a 20min walk and is easily accessible by taxi for approx £6-7. There is a rank at the front of the station. Unity is also about a 15min walk from London Road Brighton station. Free parking is available in nearby residential streets.
